Drawings and lilies

Color studies with w-colors... couple of them is a disaster... but not without any satisfaction.
I must admit this is easier than it looks...
The florist said it will last about 10 days plus... but in this kinda room temp... probably last only 7-8.

Folded

Ben Folds X Sydney Symphony at the Opera House...
Elaborately rearranged... both new and classics... re-presented the post-modern piano man's work with a layer of theatricality and bitterness. (hmm sounds right to me ????). Its hard not to be moved by his honesty and sense of reality...couldn't shake this heavey feeling though I tried... something was missing...the wind and the torrential rain...and whats this about Ben not cussing on the mic tonight?

...and one super cute tour tee...take a look.

While we're on music... John Mayer's new album 'Continuum' is probably the best thing I've heard this year... one word... soulful. He is all soul baby! He does what you do with a pen and words with his guitar. If you have yet to hear it ... go give it a try... I know you guys will somehow get your hands on it legally or illegally, whatever, just shut up and listen.

(Ever get that one song that pierce right through you?)

Before I forget, thanks for all the entries for the contest... it will close on sunday... I'll have the result for you guys soon after.

oh and season 3 of House started...

wk ?

Here are some experiments with watercolor from illustration the past Tuesday... it was a total disaster!!! They were practices for washes (from light to dark etc)... I was really struggling with it ... soon gave up and got bored... then sketched over it.
Gonna be a big week for design... more on that later.
Probably a good thing I got fired.

Enjoy.

Naming contest

Haven't posted any drawings lately.
Probably cos I haven't been drawing. yea, thats probably it.

anyway... here it is.

He needs a name... and you guys get to name him (or her)
Winner will get ... something. I'll figure that out later... I promise it will be good.

So all y'all should put on that thinking cap (or not)...get creative... get silly...
Place your entry (INCL. name and other stuff to explain why) in comments and I'll review it, everyone should have a crack at it... I'll announce the winner.... when I'm ready.
Entry is open to everyone... Thats everyone/anyone. Going international...

edit: I should also mention that I'll adjust/ tailor the prize according to the winner... but I assume it will include a drawing in some shape or form.
edit: theres no limit of number of entries so go crazy! but PLEASE include the name and the rationale behind thy creativity...

OST to Spring

I never did finish writing that song... well, its missing lyrics. Maybe I can finally finish it.
I walked into a cafe near my local library ...where soccer moms schoolgirls congregated and gossiped over tea and cakes. I ordered and waited. It was Katrina & the Waves "Walking On Sunshine" playing on the radio... (wheres my coffee?) .. It was Extreme's "More Than Words" next... I walked out with my coffee in one hand and chuckled. I put my earphones back on and drifted away between my ears. It was Joe Cocker playing... unmistakable electric piano intro... "Feelin' Alright". I chuckled.

That was the soundtrack to 6 minutes 18 seconds of my first day of Spring, my first day of September 2006.

What was playing on yours?

edit: Who removed their comment on post made on July 14, titled "1:25"?
