life. drawing.

Lake house 2006... otherwise known as the "annual masters of the universe challenge and other stuff". Same place... around the same time of the holiday season... same crew, well, almost... minus Jordan this year. (I even updated my laker #8 to a #24... ) Just boozing and cruising...chillin' and bitchin' (I don't think people say that anymore?). Felt so removed from everything and i meant everything even though it was really an 1 and 1/2 hours drive. Haven't felt so calm and at peace with myself in a long time... or maybe it was the alcohol talking. I joke... I don't encourage drug uses and alcoholic abuse. ~ha!
Weather was a little unforgiving though... but that didn't stop us from getting into the cricket hype... clearly some of us been watching too much tv... and I found another reason for me not to pick up a cricket bat again. Clearly not my thing cos I look like a retard swinging that bat. ha. It finally cleared up on the day we were leaving.
So off to the jetty...

Below are some of the drawings from the past monday at Arthouse. Its really quite satisfying to be able to just sit and draw for an hour or two and nothing but that. There was a range of drawings there I noticed as I walked around between breaks. Some drawings are immaculate in details some are more expressive than others. Some are clearly new to it and you can really tell but best part is no.body.cares. If you suck then embrace that suckiness and suck with style. I've been telling everybody about these life drawing sessions but so far had very little (next to none) interested parties. C'mon people come for the booze and stay for the boobs! Erm....
Have to say I can really get use to this lifestyle...

Few more days to Christmas.
I really don't fancy this time of the year.

Close Encounters

9th Dec, 2006.
Robbie Williams Close Encounters Tour @ Sydney

He is. A singer. A songwriter. Above all, an entertainer.
I received the tickets many months ago. Anticipation and expectation was high.
Very high.
And he delivered.
There was tension in the air...cool air none the less... some people were getting quite touchy about their space... I just love cat fights... this time was a shouting match between two women who grew tired of each other's back... though no punches were thrown... I rocked 3-stripes (but not the Asics)... and the tour tee from last time Robbie played in Sydney... but nothing makes you feel your age then having two teens referring to your tee as "old school" and "vintage"... really. (my apologies goes to the one that stood behind me and her toes.)... occasional breeze meant I had constant supply of fresh air...I like oxygen..."Sneaky Sound System" kick started the crowd before Robbie rocked the Sydney stage... Connie Mitchell's vocal (think Jill Scott meets electro/ dance) was incredible riding high on dance beats... then purchases were made on iTunes when I got home... I often get my sunnies mix up with night vision goggles...he sang 'Back For Good'... My bad, its not cool to call them sunnies, apparently the word is 'stunners'... 'stunners'....'stunners'... 'Come Undone' and 'Feel' still my favorites... I missed you and the RW last tour we went to...Stage and effects looked awesome... all them pretty lights... I've got a bad habit of profiling people near me... he sang 'Back For Good'...unrelated note, apparently its difficult to make eye contact in conversations when one is wearing stunners with reflective lenses... all things in life is conditional... 'Monsoon' and 'Rock DJ' great for shouting...wish he did more swing numbers like 'Mr Bojangles'... he sang 'Back For Good'?...one of the best show I've seen... and I believe I'm not gonna see another one for a long time.

pics below... picture worth a 1000...so thats 6000. Go figure. (que "let me entertain you")...

new addition

say hello to 'zou san' which apparently translate to 'Mr Elephant' in japanese.
He might just be the most adorable soft toy. Ever. Maybe a little silly but I actually took it out on a field day. One look at it and a wave of 'awww' will follow. Sadly though zou san signifies something a little bit personal for discussion on the interweb. Its a longing... that without a doubt I'm going to miss someone but anyway I'm sure there are better things to dwell on...

Like the new CD i bought... new Eason's album, "What's going on...?" (definitely a question I've been asking myself lately...probably too much.) surely thats something to be excited about. Some good tracks to watch out...1...3...6-10. Ummm thats almost the entire album...hmmm.

On a totally unrelated matter, I received an email from my design tutor asking me to work up a few 'money shot' from the last project for the university's catalogue of studio work. I hate this time of the year where we play the waiting game... I'm not the only one (yeah i aware of that) but sucks... feel like a sitting duck. or a person. whatever.

pics below... riding with zou san... Eason's CD waiting to be imported.
