Death of Modernism at 1:100

Had a later than usual night at the office... but it wasn't so bad. I don't do that many hours per week during uni anyway... plus I had to finish what i started so... work is work eh? Just gotta be professional about it I guess.
Anyway... I don't like to point fingers (yet) but someone broke my 1:100 Farnsworth House model and think he/she can get away with it and slip by me. When I find the culprit... he/she will pay. (!!!!)
(Those 1:100 I-beam is a b!tch to cut and glue !!!)

Kick...Push... @ CLFL Office

My day started at about 7 in the morning... and the winter morning is ICE COLD!!! not cool...ice cold. After the hot shower I felt like diving right back in bed but I resisted, instead, it was cup of pipin' hot horlicks to the rescue with its malty goodness.
Anyway... just working on my drawing board at work, the beats been on since 9 a.m. just rolling with it... Still Mos Def and Lupe.Think they will get alot of air time on my pod.

blogging from work... thats a first. hahah :D

Sunday @ BKA office

The team got together at Julia's office... at 10 a.m(?)
...Pete arrived at 11 a.m
...I got there at about noon. (hah)

We all struggled in one way or another. I'm still having trouble coming to terms with the amount of space dedicated to "housing" outlined in the brief. Although I admit that it was kinda fun playing around with different configuration of the apartment units. The project is still at a very diagramatic stage which I'm desperately trying to move away from. I'm not quite convinced with some parts but nothing wrong with drawing out the mistakes... suppose everything is still in the testing stage.
By now I have a pretty good understanding of the project on a programmatic level and how most of the space will/will not work so that should be enough to keep me busy.

It was cold as ice out tonight. Got myself some katzu curry and rice from C-Town for dinner... jumped into my car and away i went. Got some new tunes (Mos Def-Black On Both Side//Lupe Fiasco-Food & Liquor)...so the beat went on, and so did the heater.

Pics to follow: the stage... the crew: Pete... Ju...me... then the meal

The Graduate

Ah... Its been a while since I blogged but no matter better late than never.
Before I go on just want to show my appreciation...
(My graduation held on 16th of May... for those who missed it ,which is most people, there will be another one in another 2 years... witness the future [hahhaha] don't miss the next one!)
*To my family !! who flew half way across the globe to attend my graduation. Thanks for all the support over the years (and still more to come!) Family is family... no matter where we are at any given time.
*Big thank you to Derek who made the effort and attended my graduation ( DC was late but none the less, a valiant effort in my book to drag his lazy ass over the bridge and into the uncharted ground of UTS.
* To the one and only ... the precious Julya... you know how much you mean to me so I'll spare myself the embarrassment :)Thanks for the Grrrduation plush and them Hershey's chocolate. Thanks JooJoo!

Yes... proud graduate of the BA Arch. But still has a long way to the next stop.

...2nd cut is deeper

"Are those friggin' laser beam on friggin' sharks?" you say...
Well... minus the sharks and you have one nifty laser cutter. Though I must admit I was mildly disappointed when I first saw the machine in operation. I was expecting a crimson beam of concentrated energy generated by a machine that resembles some scale of a doomsday device (for evil doing, like in old Bond films, muhahah,) but instead it’s a crummy box no bigger than a foosball table with a laser beam that was hardly visible to naked eyes. Non the less it is an impressive piece of machinery considering that it came right out of our faculty budget… or the mDa department. (Masters of Digital Architecture, for those playing at home.)
This was my 2nd time using the laser cutter and it still amaze me the speed and control it is capable of. No doubt it opens up lots of possibility and efficiency in form making but it is only utilised by the post grads in mDa. Am I the only one that thinks the machine can be out to better use? … like etching the coolest Christmas card made out of 3mm acrylic with edge light ???

Moving right along…

May the Force build with you

(insert Lightsaber sound effects)

Lego: Star Wars II is due to release in September. It features the original trilology in lego blocks. Sounds like hours of fun (hehe). Feel kinda silly that I'm excited about a game release given that I'm not even a game enthusiast. But I guess it IS Star Wars X Lego...why not. If it is anything like its predecessor it should be great! Hours of fun in front of a big screen tv, battling lego droids, jumping over molten lava, blowing up lego stormtroopers while drinking tea, laughing at each others silliness and eating mintslices... won't you come join me in the battle aganist the Lego Empire?

What's Golden?

The Lakers came up short in Game 6 and fell aganist the Suns at the Staples Centre 126-118 in Overtime. Bryant dropped 50 but wasn't enough. The series been pushed to the decisive Game 7. If Kobe's Lakers comes out on top of this grueling first round series, will it be a team effort? or another Kobe heroic? (Why do I get the feeling that the Lakers will self destruct if they go OT ?) But here goes nothing... GO! Lakers GO!
What else am I holding thats golden? My Drivers License, thats what! I drove for a couple of days before I realised that it had already been expired. (Oops...my bad.)
