So 2006 is the year of the dog, thats 2 full circles which makes me 24 years of age this year. One would think that being the year of your birth animal would bring fortune, luck and everything good... at least something positive. Apparently not so.
Its day 3 in Hong Kong... I've never been the superstitious type but why not try something different for a change. Its quite an experience. The bundled incense burning collectively outside the temple main hall, dampened ashes rained down like blackened snow gushing from a near by furnace incinerating the blessed excess. Inside the hall unlit incense presented in front of the altar dressed with elaborate carvings. Murmurs of prays and curses from impatient worshipers. All in the name of good fortune and superstition.
Her plane touched down and I eagerly waited at arrival gate A. Her walk. Her sway. Looking forward to the next three weeks. ☺
